Nobody Sequel Lands Action Director Timo Tjahjanto

It seems Saul Goodman himself is going through a Liam Neeson phase. After the success of “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” Odenkirk starred as an unlikely blue-collar action hero in “Nobody,” a movie directed by “Hardcore Henry” director Ilya Naishuller and written by “John Wick” scribe Derek Kolstad. In addition to “Nobody 2,” it’s also been reported that Odenkirk is now joining forces with “Free Fire” director Ben Wheatley for a new neo-Western action crime thriller that was also written by Kolstad (with Odenkirk describing the project as “early Bourne”).

Odenkirk, for his part, did a great job as an action star in “Nobody,” delivering kick-ass fights without having to bulk up and take away from the “nobody” in the title. With a director like Tjahjanto on board to deliver exquisitely crafted action set pieces, the sequel is now one of the most anticipated action movies of the next few years.

“Nobody 2” opens in theaters on August 15, 2025.
